Preview: Paris Saint-Germain vs. Inter Milan
May 29, 2025
The grand finale of the European football calendar takes centre stage in Munich on Saturday night, as Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan lock horns in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final. It’s a contest of contrasts — PSG’s free-flowing flair versus Inter’s tactical resilience — with history on the line for both clubs. PSG are eyeing a first-ever Champions League crown and an unprecedented French treble, while Inter seek redemption and a record-equalling fourth UCL title after a rollercoaster season.
TEAM NEWS

Remarkably, both sides come into the final at full strength. PSG are without only Presnel Kimpembe, who’s been out most of the season, giving manager Luis Enrique plenty of selection headaches — notably in attack, where Ousmane Dembélé is set to return to the starting XI alongside Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with either Desire Doue or Bradley Barcola joining them.

Inter also welcome back key men Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski, both pictured in training this week, while star striker Lautaro Martinez is declared fit after missing the past two weeks. Simone Inzaghi is expected to revert to his trusted XI, with Hakan Calhanoglu pulling the strings in midfield and Marcus Thuram supporting Martinez up front.

Prediction

On paper, this is a true 50-50 — PSG’s attacking firepower versus Inter’s structured discipline. Both have shown resilience and moments of brilliance en route to Munich, but recent form tips the scales ever so slightly in the Parisians' favour. That said, Inter are battle-tested and hard to break down, and this final may well come down to fine margins.

Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Inter Milan (PSG win on penalties)

Expect a tactical and tense affair, with penalties a real possibility. PSG’s shootout success at Anfield earlier this year may just be the edge they need to finally claim European glory.
