Poland began their Euro 2024 campaign against the Netherlands in Hamburg on June 16. The match ended in a 2-1 victory for the Netherlands, with Adam Buksa scoring Poland's lone goal in the 15th minute.


Poland secured their spot in Euro 2024 through the playoffs after finishing third in their qualifying group. They earned their place in the tournament by winning a penalty shootout against Wales in the playoff final.


In the group stage, Poland has two more matches to play. Today, they face Austria, and on June 25, they will play against France in Dortmund.

Austria

Austria played their first group match against France in Düsseldorf. The game was decided by an own goal from Austrian defender Wöber, who accidentally put the ball into his own net in the 38th minute (0-1).


Austria had a relatively smooth path to Euro 2024. Under the guidance of Ralf Rangnick, the team finished second in their qualifying group, just one point behind Belgium. Austria's record in the qualifiers included six wins, one draw, and one loss.


Following the match against Poland, Austria will conclude their group stage with a game against the Netherlands on June 25 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
