Medvedev Falls to Sinner in the US Open Quarterfinals

Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev failed to advance to the semifinals of the 2024 US Open. The Moscow-born player lost in the quarterfinals to Italy's Jannik Sinner in a tough four-set battle.

Sinner, currently ranked as the world’s number one, took the victory with a scoreline of 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. The match lasted 2 hours and 41 minutes.

Medvedev managed 5 aces, but struggled with 6 double faults and converted only 2 out of 8 break points.
Sinner, on the other hand, recorded 4 aces, 1 double fault, and successfully converted 5 out of 15 break points.

In the semifinals, Jannik Sinner will face Britain’s Jack Draper, who previously defeated Australia's Alex de Minaur with a score of 6-3, 7-5, 6-2.
